Medical Psychology Treatment at Southern Pain Specialists
Dr. Rózsa's Formal Philosophy and Treatment Attitude
My main concerns relate to the application of medical and behavioral science knowledge and techniques to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical illnesses. I am dedicated to promoting a philosophy of health that emphasizes individual responsibility in one's own care and rehabilitation. It is quite possible to have an illness, yet be well. Conversely, one can have no sicknesses, yet not be well. Wellness, then, is the attainment of maximal functioning ability under any circumstances. As one's functioning ability progresses, the person's quality of life increases. Not surprisingly, the better a person functions, the less pain that person experiences. My goal in medical psychology treatment is for the patient to acquire the skills necessary to attain maximal functioning ability, which corresponds to minimum pain possible under the circumstances.
